First off, my major! dun dun dun! After a year of being undecided, I think I've got it. I'm going to major in Media Arts. Probably video or film production. Specifically editing. I don't really want to be a producer, I'm kinda vague and go with the flow more than anything. I am definately not a Stanley Kubrick. Quite the opposite actually. And everyone hates a critic. Plus I did production almost throughout my whole high school career. This should be somewhat easy. Maybe. If I make any interesting videos, I'll put them on YouTube and let people know. Still don't have a minor. Maybe I should double major with studio art. But we'll see. And I'm also taking a 3-D studio art class next semester. There will hopefully be more diverse interesting pieces up over the course of the year.
Second piece of possibly exciting news... I think I'm going to be taking glass blowing classes again. I could always just hang around the Mesa Art center and hope to scrounge off of the other classes, if I don't get in. But once again, we'll see. I really do hope I get in, because I really have no other way of glass blowing. Unless anyone is willing to let me use their studio if they live within a 30 minute radius around Phoenix or Scottsdale AZ. If none of that comes to fruitation, then I'll be hopefully submitting glass fusing pieces over the summer. As long as my mom does not get pissed that I'm using her materials.
BUT, every summer idea is iffy. I'm not sure what is going to happen. There are already too many ifs about my summer. i.e. Work, Spanish class, possible knee surgery, no vacation, coming back to school stupidly early.... So, we'll see, and I'll try. If no 3-D art... I'll try for drawings, paintings, photomanipulations, or digital photography... maybe film. Film is expensive and developing my own film is sometimes a pain in the ass, but rewarding.
Generally, my hope for the summer is to... get my art on. I guess.
